Sandfords a été fondée en 1985 par Andrew Ellinas, qui a utilisé le nom de jeune fille de sa mère sur la tête. L'entreprise a d'abord servi la région de Highgate, mais une introduction à James Lumière invité un nouveau partenariat et un passage à Regent Park. Le nouveau bureau a ouvert en 1994.

Sandfords vit bientôt la logique de l'expansion au sud de la Marylebone Road, et en 2006 Tim Fairweather a rejoint le cabinet d'ouvrir le bureau de Marylebone.

The firm has been at the forefront of the technological changes that have swept the property sector. Andrew, something of a geek, personally installed the firm's first computer network, at a time when networks were the preserve of big corporations, and he wrote Sandfords' first website. The site was a dynamic websites that could be updated on the fly, one of the first for any estate agent in the UK.
