Primrose Hill peut être seulement 63m ou 206ft au dessus du niveau de la mer mais la vue depuis le sommet est superbe, des gratte-ciel de Canary Wharf au London Eye, avec St Pauls s'élèvent majestueusement au centre.
In medieval times the hill was a forest ‘full of the lairs and coverts of game, stags, bucks, boars and wild bulls’. In Queen Elizabeth’s time the trees were cleared and the hill became meadowland, also acquiring its name in honour of the flowers that bloomed there.

The hill’s 206 acres of park was popular with duellists in the 18th century, and was also the scene of many notable political rallies including the Chartists. In 1864 a huge rally was held in support of Garibaldi, the man who united Italy.
Primrose Hill has become a popular movie location with British directors. The view from the top was used in the 1987 spy thriller The Fourth Protocol and in the 1997 award winner, Career Girls. Most recently, it starred in the opening credits of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004).
The area to the west of Primrose Hill consists of early Victorian terraces and crescents, perrenially popular for their charm and community spirit.
To the north, wide streets are lined with detached houses set in spacious gardens.
Needless to say, properties that look out onto the Hill itself fetch very high prices indeed.
